This Month's Author Our Readers Photo Gallery Recordings Archives Get Involved!    F E B R U A R Y   2 0 0 9   February was the month we recovered from the intensity of Tolkien month with a bit of a quieter schedule. But it started off with the original story that inspired the very hip and ultra-violent Fight Club and seemed to go downhill from there, especially as we ended up with Pressfield’s gore splattered Gates of Fire! Elwe introduced us to the hysterically brilliant if not somewhat disturbing Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle Treasury (which kept us company through many readings) and the laughter continued with two readings from William Goldman’s The Princess Bride - so popular we have not ruled out a third extract someday! We had a very diverse range of events this month - from the fantasy gothic noir of Kennef Riggles’ O’Casey's debut with Spiritwalk to Fyrm Fouroux's memorable two hour show of modern ballads, through to Valentine Day recitals of some of Shakespeare's best sonnets.
