Once again O'Casey's dedicated a month to the brilliant writer Sir Terry Pratchett. His brand of dry wit, brilliant satire and often thought-provoking themes is so popular with our regulars, that we decided to do ANOTHER month dedicated to this writer. This month we had at least ten dedicated readings of Sir Terry's brilliant works; including one by a cast of thousands (ok about a dozen then). As well as that, our first ever trivia quiz for Pratchett fans. If that was not enough we also had two days dedicated to the massive St Patrick’s Day celebrations down here at Dublin Virtually Live, with live readings from what many consider the masterpiece of Irish literature - Ulysses. Including some awesome satire on war, race relations, and the importance of Duty. Danton Thirroul is proud to bring us an extract of Pratchett at his best as we kick start our 2nd celebration of all things Terry! Saturday 6th 3pm Return to Discworld Terry Pratchett's Maskerade O'Casey's continues its season of extracts from Terry Pratchett's brilliant books with a LIVE reading from Maskerade. Jolly funny, and contains invaluable advice on how to stage an Opera, why its not good to upset old women, the mysteries of cats and how to kill a swan who does not want to die. Tuesday 9th 3pm Return to Discworld Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man A short extract from the awesome "Reaper Man" is due... because even Death has his VERY bad days. A live reading by Danton Thirroul. The very nearly enthusiastic Ponder Stibbons (Head of Inadvisably Applied Magic) tries to explain a revolutionary discovery to the rest of Unseen University's faculty... Friday 26th 3pm Return to Discworld Terry Pratchett's Witches Abroad Riko Kamachi returns to O'Casey's with one of the funniest excerpts ever written by Pratchett. In the ever-popular Witches Abroad, Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick travel to far-off Genua, encountering a few (very) unfortunates on the way; some of them very familiar... Saturday 27th 3pm Return to Discworld Terry Pratchett's The Light Fantastic Tonight we are very proud to present not a reading but a dramatisation of the second book in Pratchett's Discworld series. Rincewind the hapless wizard goes looking for wild onions and Cohen the barbarian discovers a solution to his dental problem... Starring Angus Mesmer, Kennef Riggles, Danton Thirroul, Riko Kamachi, Isobela Capalini, Hy Gynoid, Doramia Aeon and Saybera Drake.
