In May, we had a series of readings of Gaiman’s brilliant short stories plus extracts from some of his novels as well. Danton brought us a fantastic range of short stories, ranging from the ingeniously devilish to the absolutely hilarious. Together with Kennef Riggles, he introduced us to the urban fantasy of Neverwhere. Riko Kamachi brought us a reading from one of Gaiman's newer children's books, the eerie Graveyard Book. May also saw the return of Elwe Eldrich, our classic storyteller, who treated us to a generous selection of traditional fairy tales.    T H E   M O N T H   T H A T   W A S . . .   Date Time Event Saturday 1st May 3pm Poetry Month J. R. R. Tolkien Tolkien is famous for his books, letters and essays; but less well-known for his beautiful poetry and song, which permeated all he wrote. Riko Kamachi returns to O'Casey's to bring us a selection of Tolkien's verse. Sunday 2nd 3pm Poetry Month Emerson, Longfellow and Frost Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Robert Frost, the early American poets. A live performance of several of their selected poems. Tuesday 11th 3pm Beautiful Stories for Evil Children Madame d'Aulnoy's Green Snake The Frog Princess Charles Perrault's Donkey-skin After our brief holiday, O'Casey's is proud to present Elwe Eldrich reading classic tales - Green Snake by Madame d'Aulnoy; The Frog Princess from the Russian and Donkey-skin by Charles Perrault. Friday 14th 3pm Smoke and Mirrors Neil Gaiman's Coroline O'Casey's is overjoyed to start its season of the works of the rather brilliant Neil Gaiman - with a live reading of the terribly disturbing kids book Coroline - the kind of kids' book that gives grown ups nightmares. Danton Thirroul unleashes the evil at 3pm... Tuesday 18th 3pm EVIL Stories for Evil Children Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors O'Casey's continues its season of Neil Gaiman with a collection of his BRILLIANT short stories. Disturbing, funny and fantastically entertaining, these bad boys are SO worth it. Live at 3pm! Friday 21st 3pm Smoke and Mirrors Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere O'Casey's continues its season of Neil Gaiman with a live reading from his brilliant Neverwhere... There is a hidden city below the streets of London - populated by the most fascinating and evil characters you could ever imagine! Danton Thirroul with a live reading at 3pm. Saturday 22nd 3pm Smoke and Mirrors Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere We are proud to have Kennef Riggles return with a second live reading from Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere! Sunday 23rd 3pm Smoke and Mirrors Neil Gaiman's Murder Mysteries We continue our Neil Gaiman season with a story which we consider to be the best he EVER wrote... no kidding! How to Sell the Ponti Bridge. All included in a LIVE reading from Danton Thirroul down here at 3pm. Saturday 29th 3pm Smoke and Mirrors Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book A graveyard after dark is no place for a child... but it's the only place Nobody Owens can call home. Riko Kamachi returns to O'Casey's with a reading from Gaiman's most disturbing children's book. Sunday 30th 3pm Smoke and Mirrors Neil Gaiman's Chivalry O'Casey's concludes its season of Neil Gaiman with Danton Thirroul bringing us some of Gaiman’s funniest, darkest and best stories!
