Danton ThirroulDanton Thirroul

Danton is the driving force and luminary behind O'Casey's. He was born and raised in Ulster, now living in south-west England. He is a graduate of Kings College, London, with degrees in Literature and History. By profession a teacher of drama, Danton is also a DJ with years of experience in a wide range of genres, stretching from alternative rock, indie and trance to Latin and even Tudor period music.

Danton is currently one of Dublin in SL's most popular DJs. Having been involved in Dublin almost since its conception, he is a familiar sight on Sunday mornings at Fibber Magees night club in Dublin 3. An experienced public speaker, Danton has given several lectures in Second Life on historical subjects. In 2008 Danton approached Dublin in SL owner Ham Rambler about the possibility of opening a venue dedicated entirely to the spoken word. He now hosts several events a week at O'Casey's and is the bar's most prolific reader.

Elwe EldrichElwe Eldrich

Elwe is a weekly reader at O'Casey's. She was born in Miami, Florida and currently lives in Oklahoma.

In Second Life Elwe works as Greeter Manager for Dublin in SL, working with new residents coming into Second Life through this busy gateway. She also owns her own venue, The White Bee Tea Shop in Baeogae, and is co-owner of the Shinsa market. Elwe is a DJ with Dublin in SL, and has DJed for two years. Back in July 2007 during a Dublin festival entitled A Midsummer Night's Dream, she and Danton collaborated on an experimental recording of passages from William Shakespeare's play of the same name. The readings were a tremendous success and the spark of inspiration which would eventually develop into a fully-formed O'Casey's.

Riko KamachiRiko Kamachi

Riko is a regular at O'Casey's. From north-east England, literature has been an important part of Riko's life from a very young age. Developing an early love for the works of such British writers as Enid Blyton, Beatrix Potter and C. S. Lewis, she studied English Literature at A Level. She can currently be found doing her dream job as a library assistant. Now a keen philologist and an enthusiast for the fantasy genre, Riko is possibly O'Casey's biggest Tolkien nut.

Part of the staff of Dublin in SL since early 2008, Riko was also a GM of a major roleplaying sim based upon the Harry Potter novels by Scottish author J. K. Rowling for two years. She is a keen builder, texturer and owns her own shop, ~hanamachi~. Riko also participates in the yearly SL Relay For Life campaign as a volunteer, and finished 5th in both the 2008 and 2009 relays. Riko has been involved in O'Casey's from the very beginning, manages the O'Casey's website and is very much part of the furniture.

Kennef RigglesKennef Riggles

Kennef Riggles is a regular reader at O'Casey's in Dublin in SL. He hails from upstate NY and currently lives and works there.

Kennef first recognized a love for reading in his early teens when began reading novels left behind by his older brother by Piers Anthony, Stephen R. Donaldson, and others. Later on he branched out from predominantly fantasy genres to an eclectic base that includes such ranging authors as Robert Anton Wilson, Charles de Lint, Umberto Eco, Katherine Kurtz and many others.

Kennef is a Host and DJ in Dublin in SL, and has called it his Second Life home since early 2008. His show, the Sunday Slam at Fibber Magees; draws the Energetic, Eclectic, and Enthusiastic. Kennef wouldnt have it any other way, really.

Saybera DrakeSaybera Drake

"Once upon a time the stars collided in the heavens and the fates were born unto a new destiny. The shimmering lights of this collision drifted down and landed upon the head of a new born child on the island called Key West, Florida."

Saybera Drake is O'Casey's resident poet, and in the opinion of her friends, has more art in one little finger than all of the rest of us put together. As well as her reams of poetry, Saybera is an extremely talented artist and writes fanatically on a wide variety of subjects, including the (as of yet unpublished) thriller In The Blood. She has also published her own serial mini story on Facebook, to great success.

In Second Life, Saybera is a keen roleplayer and builder, especially for the elven sims, where she can also be seen sharing her poetry regularly. She is also a wedding planner and minister of Second Life weddings. A favourite at O'Casey's, Saybera is known for her captivating voice and thought-provoking poetry.

Safra NitelySafra Nitely

Safra Nitely is one of O'Casey's most exuberant regulars and occasionally can be found treating the bar to a reading or two, to our great delight. She is British and is a teacher of I. C. T. by profession.

Safra is known for her beautiful lilting voice, but more significantly for her great love of the Harry Potter books by author J. K. Rowling. It is a passion she has brought into Second Life, having worked with Harry Potter groups on the grid and installing a Quidditch pitch on her own sim, Devon Dream.

An enthusiastic hostess, Safra is also a member of the crew of the S. S. Galaxy and also hosts weekly in-world events for the internet radio station Martini in the Morning. Safra is also a keen participant of the Second Life Relay for Life and co-captained the Ministry of Dance team in 2009.

A keen supporter of education and the performing arts, Aseret has contributed to the design of real-life publications and raises funds for a local performing arts group. She is heavily involved with the local Literature and Music committee and town theatre, and helps to supply books to local schools. She is also a keen dog trainer and has raised a Swedish Champion.

In Second Life, Aseret is a keen roleplayer and has been involved in several groups, most significantly a sim based on the Dragons of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, of which she has been an active member since 2008. She also builds and can often be found at the Open University sim, where she studies.

Malinda MuircastleMalinda Muircastle

A regular and reader at O'Casey's, Malinda Muircastle is a keen author, having had published several medieval gothic novels, most recently the Bound in Darkness vampire trilogy for Pocket Books/Simon & Schuster under the pen name Lucy Blue.

While trying to make a living as a writer, Malinda has held what feels to her like every legal day job known to humankind, including college instructor, children's acting coach, DJ, waitress, actress, IT coordinator, PR copy writer and employment counselor. She is currently a paralegal at the largest law firm in her very small Southern American town.

Malinda has an M.A. in English literature and wrote her master's thesis on gender and archetype in the novels of A.S. Byatt. Her undergraduate degree is in English with a minor in theatre. She has been in SL since June 2008, and is currently at work on an urban fantasy and various works of contemporary pulp fiction.
